Iceland, one of the lands found by the legendary Viking explorer Eric the Red. So named for its freezing climate, Iceland has now become one of modern Scandinavia's most scenic spots thanks to its many wonderful snow-capped mountains, glacial rivers and exotic cuisine.
To travel to Reykjavik today is quite easy today as there are lesser hassles for getting tickets to the capital of Iceland because of its more affordable prices and comes with its own free tours for those tourists who would like to be shown around the said city. Snowmobile tours are offered to those who wish to view its snowy landscape and behold its beautiful rivers locked in glaciers. And for leisure, Iceland offers the luxury of many hot springs to soothe the body with the warm mineral water that seeps from beneath the earth.
It is said that the early Vikings that travel to Reykjavik that they named it Iceland to deter other settlers and make them settle in the more frigid landscape of Greenland. Though only a legend, no one really knows for sure but to travel to Reykjavik might at least yield some clues.
