Lunch at the Eiffel Tower

Eiffel Tower is remarkably the most famous attraction in all of Paris. Romantic and breathtaking are the best words to describe the experience. And what better way to make that more memorable than to view Paris from the Eiffel Tower while enjoying an authentic French lunch.

Le 58 Tour Eiffel is situated on the tower's first level and serves authentic French cuisine. The restaurant overlooks the city, while the interior design is both contemporary and classic. Quite expensive at approximately 65 Euros per person, it still is booked fast so try to make reserevations early if you want to enjoy Lunch at the Eiffel Tower.

Another restaurant in the tower is Le Jules Vernes. Run by a world-renowned chef, it serves traditional French food that costs about $65 for lunch and about $200 for dinne. A little pricey, but the rerstaurant's location on the tower's second level provides a breathtaking view of the city to its diners.

Make your visit to the Eiffel Tower memorable (and romantic, if you're traveling with your partner) by viewing the city while trying some authentic French cooking.

Tour of Auschwitz

A European trip must always include a tour of Auschwitz, the remnants of a German Concentration camp located just outside the town of Oswiecim in the Southern region of Poland, which is roughly 60 kilometers from Krakow.

It isn't the first nor the only concentration camp, but after being razed by the SS Troops to hide traces of their heinous crimes, Auschwitz was sort of erased from the face of the earth. Two years after the end of the war, in 1947, the Polish Government established the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum from its grounds.

A tour of Auschwitz Memorial and Museum grounds is easily navigated through foot. The Entrance is free but donations are encouraged. A guided tour of the ground is provided by the museum in different languages, which is really recommended if you want to have a deeper understanding of the site. The exhibitions in the Museum is in Polish, but worry not, they are translated in various languages.

Auschwitz is a good place to go, even with its morbid past. It serves as a reminder to all those who go there the inhumanities of war.

Backpacking in Italy

Italian Backpacking

While backpacking in Italy you should have two main destinations in mind for your journey and focus on them. One preferably being a beach location and another a city.
  • Rome - Naples - Capri (Herculaneum and/or Pompeii are 2 exciting must see stops if you choose this route)
  • Rome - Florence - Cinque Terre
  • Rome - Florence - Elba
  • Bologna - Venice (There is no beach on this route)
Trains are cheap in Italy and food will be too as long as you stay off the tourist path. Make sure to go off the beaten path and see all of the wonderful sight seeing opportunities available throughout Italy.

Tips:
  • August is holiday season throughout Italy and not a prime time to plan your visit around if backpacking, as many of the museums and churches will be closed.
  • Learn to speak basic Italian phrases using proper pronunciation.
  • Do research. Find towns that would be easy day trips from where you are going.

Backpacking in France

For travelers backpacking in France, there are a few ways to make the trip more rewarding and enjoyable. The best time to go is in the spring. The weather will be warm, but tourist season doesn't happen until May or June, making a less crowded place.

Also, plan out a route before going. Map out hostels, places to eat, and sites before going. Make reservations at hostels ahead of time, which will save both money and time on the trip. Some tourist attractions are not open every day, so make sure to do a quick search of the website and find out hours and dates.

Finally, although backpacking in France can be done mostly on foot, buy a train pass. It's a great way to see attractions that are out of the way, and hard to get to by walking. These are a few of the ways to make a great trip.

South African Cruises

South African Cruises

When you are searching for the perfect vacation getaway, have you considered cruise options? Some of the best South African cruises can provide you with entertainment and breathtaking beauty that will make you want to return every year.

Most coastal cruises that start in South Africa originate in Cape Town, since it is a major port city within the nation. From there, cruises typically travel to Accra or Dakar. Since Dakar is further away from Cape Town, it generally takes longer to reach by cruise ship.

South Africa also has a number of river cruises so that you can enjoy the beauty of the nation if you are not near the coast. Just a hint of what these cruises are like can be found by studying the cruises along the Olifants River. This will give you a chance to view African hippos and other animals that you would never see if you stuck to coastal cruises.

Pursuing a Passion for Snorkeling on Pacific Cruises

Pursuing a Passion for Snorkeling on Pacific Cruises

Though cruises can be relaxing by themselves, going on a cruise is much more fulfilling if it makes several stops along the way. With Pacific cruises, there are numerous islands and coastal cities that you can visit. Travelers that have a passion for snorkeling will also enjoy such cruises.

If you ask just about anyone who has visited it, Erakor Island is one of the most tropical and relaxing islands to go to. Due to the size of this island, it is not as busy as some of the others in the region. Snorkeling here can be easier and more enjoyable due to the uncrowded waters.

One popular place to go for many cruise passengers is Hideaway Island in Port Vila. Not far from Erakor Island, this south Pacific destination is known for spectacular snorkeling attractions. With vibrant fish and massive amounts of coral reef to explore, this is the place to go for snorkeling enthusiasts looking for a memorable experience.

Taking a Dream Vacation With Cruises in Japan

Taking a Dream Vacation With Cruises in Japan

If you enjoy being out on the open ocean, the idea of spending a vacation on a boat could be something that interests you. Many cruises in Japan have stops along some of the coastal cities of both the Japanese and Chinese coasts. These include popular tourists destinations like Shanghai and Tokyo.

The lengths of Japanese cruises normally vary slightly, but they are usually between 8 and 10 days. There are also some cruise ships that travel from Alaska to the Japanese coast, and these typically take nearly a month to complete. You can find out about these at American Cruises.

When planning an international cruise, you should make sure that your passport has not expired. In the United States, passports need to be renewed every 10 years, and it can be easy to forget when a passport expires. You don't want to book a trip with non-refundable tickets and then find out that you can't go because you will not be able to renew your passport in time.
